Electronic bandgap miniaturized UWB antenna for near-field microwave investigation of skin

Near-field microwave investigation and tomography has many practical applications, especially where the trend of fields signals in different environments is vital. This article shows an elliptical patch ultra-wideband antenna fed by a transmission line for near-field characterization cancerous cells skin. The comprises patch, stub loading to shift band lower bands, electronic bandgap structure on ground side. Even though low profile 15 × mm2, proposed more promising results than recent studies. Furthermore, both simulated far-field show broad bandwidth 3.9–30 GHz resonance at 2.4 applicable industrial, scientific, medical applications. also illustrates peak gain 6.48 dBi directivity 7.09 dBi. Free space skin (on layer breast fat tumor with diameter 4 mm boundary breast) are used as test during simulation measurement investigations while considering phantom shape. Both performed Computer Simulation Technology studio, then compared measured data. good agreement, focused energy around completely reconstructed. Therefore, can be adequate candidate differentiation reconstruct tumor’s image.
